Public Hearings and Lobbying
The GEC helps our community by requesting public hearings for projects like: the Live Oak Power Plant, where many of the people living close by are worried that alrge water withdrawals from the Miocene aquifer by the power plant could make wells go dry; lobbies for community-oriented solutions to environmental problems.
Through our activities, programs and campaigns, GEC lobbies for protecting and preserving the environmental health of Glynn County based on scientific research, academic findings and perspectives of leading qualified professionals. these efforts are targeted toward local, state, and federal officials whose cumulative responsibility is to protect the environmental health of our families.
