About the Event
On Saturday, March 1st from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM, we will travel around Glynn County to visit and learn more about local hazardous waste sites. We will meet at Lanier Plaza by the Truist ATM (1923 Glynn Ave, Brunswick). This is a free community event and the first 6 RSVPs will be provided FREE transportation!
Glynn County is plagued with four nationally designated and twelve state-designated hazardous waste sites. The Glynn Environmental Coalition works to involve the surrounding community and the vast number of visitors in the EPA cleanup decision-making processes. This field trip is designed to introduce individuals to the numerous steps involved in the cleanup process, provide an update on each site in Brunswick, and provide action items for folks to get involved with the process. Additionally, you will be able to geographically orient yourself to the hazardous waste sites and the adjacent neighborhoods, schools, and businesses, which is crucial information when advocating for better cleanup solutions!
RSVPs are strongly encouraged to assist with transportation planning.
